Principal Secretary for the State Department of Higher Education, Dr. Beatrice Inyangala, on Friday served as the Chief Guest at the 22nd Graduation Ceremony of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology in Kakamega County. During the event, 4,997 graduands were awarded Masters, Degrees, and Diplomas, prepared to contribute to Kenya’s development under the BETA initiative.In her address, the PS encouraged universities and institutions to continue strengthening industry-focused skills and to remain committed to building a skilled and ethical workforce for the nation.She also reaffirmed the progress made through the new funding model, which has successfully lowered university fees.

This morning, the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Julius Migos Ogamba graced the 14th Graduation Ceremony of the Technical University of Kenya, where 2,277 students were awarded various degrees and diplomas.

The event was also attended by, among others, the Principal Secretary for the State Department of Science, Research and Innovation, Prof. Shaukat Abdulrazak.

PRINCIPAL SECRETARIES, RESPONSES.

The government will complete new and old projects that have been initiated in Narok County,a team of nine principal Secretaries have confirmed.
Speaking in  Transmara west, during a fund drive in aid of a local church at Shartuka of Kilgoris,the principal Secretaries listed ongoing projects within the County with a promise that all will be completed.Let by the PS for Basic Education, amb.prof Julius Bitok each of them got a field day to respond to questions touching on their State departments from the local citizens.


PS Bitok described the education system  as strong and at its best.He said the government has  put in place all the needed support PS for Water and sanitation Julius Korir promised the people of Transmara west and the entire Narok that persistent shortage of water will soon be a thing of the past.He said his Department has laid down various interventions which are in advance stages of completionsThe principal Secretary for Agriculture Paul kiprono Rono on his part said farmers will reap big from the government's financial subsidies and interventions which are meant to cushion farmers He said the government will buy cereal produce from the farmers.


Other Principal Secretaries who responded to Wananchi  concerns were : Miss Susan Mangeni(SME),Joel Orumanyang(public works), Miss Aurelia Rono (parliamentary Affairs)John Ololtuaa(Tourism),Chris Kiptoo (National treasury) and Joseph Motari PS ,social protection.

This marks a milestone in the expansion of access to higher education in the country. It also signifies the growing partnership between the Government and the private sector in promoting access to quality and relevant higher education.

The government will embrace public, private partnership (PPP) to improve the standard of education, Principal Secretary for Basic Education,Am.Prof.Julius Bitok has said.
Speaking today in Nairobi when he presided over an M-pesa  foundation Educational function ,PS Bitok welcomed the partnership  initiative saying it will assist many schools to improve their infrastructures and general standard of education.
" The M-pesa  foundation has impacted 3 million learners through improvement of school infrastructures and school scholarships", ps said .
The Chief Executive Officer for  the safaricom  pledged  to further support 500 schools .
ps Bitok said the Ministry will in future partner with  safari com to improve communication between the schools and the Ministry  through the company country wide call centres.
The telecommunications company was celebrating its 25 years of existence.

DRAFT NATIONAL POLICY FOR VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING 

Over 1.29 million learners in Grade 6 will sit for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) while their 1.13 million counterparts in Grade 9 have registered for the inaugural Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) that will determine placement to senior schools previously known as high schools.
