KENYA DOMINATES ATHLETICS IN FEASSA COMPETITION,IN KAKAMEGA

Kenya has emerged a winner in the athletics competition in the Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) competition in Kakamega County with a total of 109 medals for Primary and Secondary schools. The Republic of Uganda came second, with a total of 62 medals, and Tanzania took the third position with  a total of 30 medals. The remaining three countries of Burundi,Rwanda, and  Ivory Coast were not able to clinch any medals. Kenya scooped the biggest number of Gold medals meaning they dominated both the field events and track events alike.

In several instances the Kenya team had to compete among themselves as Kenya 1 and Kenya 2 when other countries failed to field  even a single competitor, giving the Kenya team a field day to technically own some of the disciplines. In track events Kenya took all the medals for the 3000-meter steeplechase when the other countries ran away from the rough and tough race, which has been associated with Kenyan athletes for a long time. For other races, like relays and other long races, Kenya took all three medals: gold, silver, and the bronze. The participating countries said they are learning a lot from Kenya.
