kenya Start-Up Festival

Science, Research and Innovation PS @Profshaukat today officiated the commencement of the Kenya Start-up Festival, aimed at fostering cooperation between the Government, private sector, and Development Partners through financial backing, technical assistance, and market access, to make the Kenya a global innovation leader. The PS emphasised on the importance of the Startup Bill saying that this was a sign of commitment from the Government in providing a predictable and attractive environment for both local and international investors to ensure Kenya maintains its leadership as Africa’s premier innovation and entrepreneurship hub. Prof Shaukat noted that the Startup Bill supports the BETA Agenda through ensuring that the pillars of MSMEs, Healthcare, the Digital Super-Highway, Agricultural Transformation and Inclusive Growth together with Housing and Settlement are receiving maximum support from the Government and development partners. He at the same time noted that the festival highlighted the potential for technology and innovation to revolutionize the growth of the Start-ups in the country as he encouraged stakeholders to work together to achieve this goal.
